A complete, installation-ready Cambridge Art Tile Co. fireplace surround in the coveted tortoiseshell glaze — mottled sepia, amber, and deep aubergine pooling across each tile in a way no two are alike. Salvaged from a St. Louis mansion, where they framed the firebox of a quartersawn oak mantel. Not a handful of orphan tiles, but a working surround with the matching embossed floral border component intact — ribbons, blossoms, and trailing vines reading as a rich vertical accent against the tortoiseshell field. Approximately 88 pieces; marked Cambridge in relief; excellent antique condition with light crazing.
