Antique Pilkington Laurel Wreath Tiles — Teal Majolica, 6×6 (Set of 10)

Description

A rare, color-matched group of ten antique fireplace tiles by Pilkington’s Tile & Pottery Co., each bearing the impressed Rd No 562546 — a design registered in 1910. The tiles depict a laurel wreath bound with ribbons, emblematic of Pilkington’s Edwardian neoclassical period. The glaze is a luminous teal-green majolica over white body with gentle craquelure. Two tiles have received discreet, professionally matched edge restorations. Clifton Junction, Lancashire, England; circa 1910; 6 x 6 inches; set of 10; excellent condition.
