An antique cast iron fireplace summer cover, c. 1890–1910, with a deeply modeled stag and doe in a meadow beneath radiant beams, framed by ivy and foliate scrolls. The casting is crisp and the scale is full hearth at 24.5″ wide × 30″ tall, meant to span the opening completely. A complete, handsome wildlife example with strong architectural presence.
