Description

An assembled Aesthetic Movement tile panel centered on nine wisteria tiles by the Trent Tile Company — trailing flower clusters, buds, and leafing branches in high relief, the most sought-after botanical motif of the period. Around them sit four rosette medallion tiles and seven slim border tiles by the United States Encaustic Tile Company — two great American tile houses in one matched deep smoky-slate glaze. Framework as assembled 33 x 18 inches. From a Chicago estate; even crazing throughout, the patina of more than a century. A one-of-a-kind panel.
