Description
A richly glazed antique figural tile depicting a golden-haired child seated beside a classical column, surrounded by grapevines against a deep black ground. Hand-painted in cobalt, forest green, ochre, and ivory with Art Nouveau framing flourishes. Made in Austria or Germany around 1890–1910, high-gloss glaze over molded relief; the reverse bears an incised backstamp with stylized initials and arrowhead motifs. A built-in string hanger remains, indicating it was designed for display. Approx. 7 x 4.5 inches. Stunning framed or in a collection of Jugendstil or Secessionist decorative ceramics.
