Antique Cambridge Acanthus Scroll Tile — Ivory Lilac Majolica
$75.00
Description
An original 6×6 inch antique majolica tile made by Cambridge Tile Company in the 1890s, featuring a swirling acanthus scroll in high relief. Salvaged from a 19th-century mansion in Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, sculpted in the lush classical tradition and finished in a dusty ivory glaze with faint lilac undertones and natural craquelure. Cambridge began in Covington, Kentucky, founded by German craftsmen, and later moved to Ohio; their work shares stylistic roots with Rookwood and the broader Arts & Crafts movement. Up to four tiles available. Ideal as a standalone architectural accent, a framed art tile, or a restoration piece. Excellent antique condition with minor glaze variation and fine surface craquelure.
