Antique green mottled crackle glaze fireplace tiles — a complete 120-piece surround set in luminous olive green and cream. American-made architectural field tiles with an impressed crescent and star back mark, currently under identification. High gloss. Excellent condition.

A Living Surface

Each tile carries a deep, clouded mottled glaze where tones of olive, moss, and sage drift through a warm cream ground. The color is never the same twice — some tiles run heavy with saturated green pooling at one end, while others hold pale cream fields broken by scattered emerald blooms. Beneath the gloss, a fine crackle network covers every surface, catching the light and giving the tiles a depth that flat color never achieves.

The mottled effect was produced by allowing two glaze layers to interact during firing — the green floating and separating across the cream base in patterns no kiln could repeat. This is what makes each tile individual and the assembled field so visually rich.
