Description
This dramatic four-tile centerpiece was made by the United States Encaustic Tile Company of Indianapolis (USETCO) in the late 19th century. When assembled, the tiles form a symmetrical 12” x 12” medallion with bold, radiating geometry — ideal for a fireplace header, stair riser, or architectural feature.
The surface is deeply molded with strong shadow lines and finished in a flowing olive green glaze, flecked with amber undertones and subtle natural crazing. The pattern evokes early mechanical symmetry — clean, intentional, and timeless.
