A rare and early Trent faience surround, salvaged from a grand mantel installation that once included the celebrated Trent Shepherd & Figures pictorial tiles. The architectural field that framed them — this shimmering suite of Cloudburst Aqua over Caramel Snow — remains whole and luminous. The glaze is unmistakably early Trent: drifting veils of aqua and celadon over warm caramel and cocoa stone, with the delicate micro-craquelure only their finest faience achieved — the glazes Trent reserved for their Artistic Mantel commissions. Every element is Trent-made: modular faience bricks, micro-bricks, 2×4 and 2×2 units, rope mouldings, and geometric borders. Tile count: 235 at 3×1½; 69 at 1½×1½; 60 at 4×2; 8 at 2×2; 12 rope mouldings at 6 in; plus geometric borders. Comfortably frames a 42×36 in firebox opening.
