Antique Columbia Majolica Tile — Cherub & Acanthus, 6×6 Fireplace Panel

Description

A richly modeled 6 x 6 inch architectural tile by Columbia Encaustic Tile Co., featuring a figural putto framed in unfurling acanthus. The glaze is a marbled ochre with tonal warmth and surface movement — evidence of the American majolica tradition at its most sculptural and expressive. Produced in the late 1800s, likely part of a grand interior composition — fireplace, frieze, or panel — now standing on its own with presence and quiet tension. Marked on the reverse.
