A sky captured in clay. Powder blue drifts into aqua across these slim Cambridge bricks, each face traced with a fine crackle that catches light like frost. In several, smoke shadows have settled into the craze lines — a quiet ghost of their years by the hearth, a patina we’ve chosen to preserve. Made by the Cambridge Tile Company of Cambridge, Ohio (founded 1901); the early windowpane backstamp places them in the late 1920s–1930s. Sizes & counts (149 pcs / ~5.30 sq ft): 1.5×6 in — 28 pcs; 1.5×3 in — 106 pcs; 1.5×1.5 in — 15 pcs. Sound salvage with intentional age crackle, scattered edge nicks, and historic smoke tint in some craze lines. Interior use.
