Antique Victorian Brown Floral Transfer Tiles — Staffordshire Pair, 6×6
$175.00
Description
A pair of Victorian transfer-printed tiles in a deep sepia-brown palette, c. 1880s. Bold blossoms and curling tendrils emerge through a rich translucent glaze, shifting in light from honey to umber, with an atmospheric shadow effect from overglaze pooling. Likely Staffordshire origin, c. 1875–1890; 6 x 6 in each; fine overall crazing, light edge rubs, and subtle kiln freckles. A handsome pair from England, the tile-making epicenter of the 19th century.
